FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our interlocking PVC floor tiles.
What surfaces can I install the tiles on?
Our tiles can be installed over any hard, flat surface including concrete, screed, existing vinyl, wood, and even old damaged floors. The surface must be dry and free of loose debris. They are not suitable for soft or uneven ground.
Do I need adhesive or glue?
No. Our tiles use a precision interlocking system — simply click them together by hand. No adhesive, no specialist tools. This also means you can lift and relay them if you ever move or need access to the subfloor.
Can the tiles handle heavy vehicles?
Yes. Our 7mm tiles are rated for standard vehicles (cars, vans, motorbikes). Our 10mm ultra heavy-duty tiles are rated for forklifts, HGVs, and heavy industrial machinery. Both ranges are tested to withstand repeated heavy loads without cracking or deforming.
Are the tiles resistant to oil and chemicals?
Absolutely. Our PVC tiles are resistant to oil, petrol, diesel, brake fluid, antifreeze, and most common workshop chemicals. Spills sit on the surface and wipe clean easily — no staining or damage.
How long do the tiles last?
Our tiles have a projected lifespan of 20+ years in normal use. They don't crack, chip, or peel like epoxy coatings. Many of our customers report their tiles looking as good as new after 10+ years of daily use.
What's the difference between T-joint and X-joint tiles?
T-joint (brick pattern): Tiles are offset like bricks. This creates a stronger floor and distributes weight more evenly — recommended for heavy traffic areas.
X-joint (grid pattern): Tiles align in a uniform grid. Easier to install and creates clean, symmetrical lines — ideal for showrooms and lighter-use spaces.
Do I need ramp edges?
Ramp edges provide a smooth transition from tile height to floor level at doorways and open edges. They prevent trip hazards and give a professional finish. We strongly recommend them for any installation with exposed edges.
Can I replace a single damaged tile?
Yes — that's one of the biggest advantages of interlocking tiles. Simply lift out the damaged tile and click a new one in its place. No need to redo the entire floor.
How do I clean the tiles?
Simply mop with warm water and a mild detergent. For stubborn marks, a stiff brush works well. No special cleaning products are needed. The tiles can also be pressure washed if required.
